Every morning including this one, it seems the first thing we see on the news, in social media, on the headlines is two words:
this day was no exception and when I opened my emails the first thing that popped up was the Breaking News that the first suspect of the Boston Marathon Murders had been shot dead along with a campus police officer in Watertown. Once again, a CAMPUS for learning. The surviving suspect was identified as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge, Mass., a law enforcement official said. The suspect who was killed was identified as his brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, the law enforcement official said. Investigators believe that both of the suspects were Chechens; where there seems to be a strong Islam influence separate from Russia all together it seems. “everal area colleges announced the cancellation of classes on Friday, including M.I.T., Harvard, Boston University, Boston College, Emerson College, Northeastern University and Suffolk University.
In the course of the chase, the suspects shot and killed a campus police officer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and severely wounded a transit police officer, police said. The authorities were investigating whether the suspect who was killed had an improvised explosive device strapped to his body, two law enforcement officials said. Improvised explosive devices strapped to the body? What the hell is wrong with people who would set out to intentionally do such devastating harm to others? As they search the streets, the gutters, the roof tops and I write this who knows, perhaps they now have the brother, perhaps no one else gets hurt, great chance someone will.
I am sick in my heart of the losses the lives, the limbs that innocent people have endured right here on the soils of our Ancestors.
I am sick to my soul of those who go for education, to shop, to the movies or the grocery store and in the blink of an eye, or the thinking of whether the sky is blue; all can be forever changed for the potential of that person, their families by the hands of someone who has no respect for living and breathing things either guided by others, by religion, by voices in their head or a relationship gone bad or just out of meanness.
And then we here those words again as they flash across the screen:
And in Texas an explosion that leaves the state reeling, the country ready to jump out of their skin and everyone falls to their knees once again or still praying for those lifes lost and affected. Praying for the first responders, for the ones who are missing, are fatigued, are traumatized. Praying for each other in ways not known since 9/11, and praying that this is not a terrorist attack to devastate, while having flashes of the day the world stood still.
LOOK FOR THE GOOD, LOOK FOR THE HELPERS…
repeats in the head and is reminded to all as we keep hearing updates, newsbreaks, and accusations of who to blame.
One, many ones are standing UP, changing old patterns and habits, and taking stands. they are saying “enough is enough” and rather than casting blame and playing the same old loop of dissatisfactions they are now joining in the old fashioned American way of extending help to a neighbor, of doing community good deeds, of standing for the right way of being with messages that provide kindness rather than hate. YES we all want swift justice for the ones that have committed crimes against our America and done grievous harm to people, and we need to be kinder to each other as well.
We must teach our children, our young adults and each other to reach a hand to one another, to respect each other beginning in our homes, in our communities, at work, in play, in the streets to stop the violence.
The madness must stop; the level of disrespect for each other must stop.
WE as a people are the people. Honoring our living and our fallen with respect while thanking our Ancestors and using their wisdom to relieve us this pain.
The good still outweighs the bad!
80 year old Willie Nelson, the modern day prophet himself; made an annoucement the day after the explosion in Texas and not one news reel picked up the story: Willie is having a concert that is the celebration of his 80th Birthday in Austin Texas… he wanted to let everyone know, in light of the tragedy in texas, and his love of those there, NOW
Proceeds from the show, scheduled for April 28 in Austin, will benefit the West Volunteer Fire Department. The 11 confirmed dead were all first-responders. That is a man to be talked about, to be thanked for standing up in the light of tragedy and knowing that there is goodness in the world.
Out in Austin TX, the MS150 is getting ready to roll on those bikes this weekend, the crowds will gather, they will ride 170 miles in two days for the cure of MS… through winds, through tears and with buns of steel. Laura Roorda will be on that finish line waiting for her girls Shauna and Dixie to cross once again this year with hope in their hearts and love that fills the air. thousands upon thousands will be there, and many will have in their mind the Boston Marathon, please pray for their safety, for the cure of this disease MS.
Many from Texas still reeling from that explosion will find the courage to still get out and be at that ride, some might even be riders…
as they mourn the fallen and as they gather their spirits.
It is the anniversary of the OK City Bombings yet I have heard no mention of that on the news today… of how the healing continues, or if people there are now experiencing moments of reflection on that place where chairs sit quietly with names on each one…
We need to bring back old school kindness, compassion and respect.
Blessings to all living things while honoring and remembering our Ancestors
